Why Label Studio Support Cannot Modify Your Project or Workflow
Label Studio provides the platform for annotation and project management, but project configurations, labeling instructions, and onboarding processes are fully managed by your organization or the project owner.
This means:
The Support Team cannot edit or override your label configuration (e.g., making a field optional).
The Support Team cannot provide guidance on internal assessments, hiring, or onboarding steps that happen outside Label Studio.
The Support Team cannot complete or modify your organization’s tasks or stages on your behalf.
Common Organization-Specific Issues
Here are a few examples of issues that must be addressed by your project administrator or internal team:
1. Required Fields in Label Configuration
Example:
“On step 3 of the conversation continuation prompt, I can't proceed to step 4. It keeps saying that input for the 'user_response' text area is required.”
This happens because the labeling configuration set by your organization has a required="true" parameter on that textarea. Label Studio enforces these rules, but cannot change them for you.
What to do:
Contact your project administrator and request that the field be made optional if this aligns with your workflow.
2. Simulation or Onboarding Tasks
Example:
“Label Studio Simulation showing pending instead of completed.”
Simulations or onboarding assessments are often part of your organization’s recruitment or training process. Label Studio Support does not have visibility or authority over these workflows.
What to do:
Reach out to your organization’s HR or project manager for guidance on completing the assessment.
How to Identify If Your Issue Is Organization-Specific
Ask yourself:
Does this involve labeling rules, required fields, or steps in the project workflow?
Does it relate to training, hiring, or assessments outside of Label Studio?
Does it require changing your project configuration or label schema?
If yes → Your internal project admin is the right contact.
Best Practices Before Escalating
Review the project guidelines or instructions provided by your organization.
Check your internal Slack, Teams, or communication channels for announcements.
Confirm whether the field or step is intentionally required by your workflow.
When to Contact Label Studio Support
You should reach out to our Support Team for:
Platform errors or bugs (e.g., UI not loading, API returning unexpected errors)
SSO, SCIM, or user access issues related to Label Studio authentication

For all other issues involving project rules or assessments, please contact your organization’s internal team.
